Pre-Care Instructions for Facial Treatments

To prepare your skin for the best possible results, follow these pre-care guidelines:

Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least 48 hours before your facial or micro-needling session.
Stop using retinoids, acids (AHAs, BHAs), and exfoliating products at least 3-5 days prior to treatments.
Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water before your appointment.
Do not wax, thread, or shave the treatment area for at least 1 week before facials or micro-needling.
If undergoing micro-needling or chemical peels, stop using Vitamin C serums 3 days before.
Arrive with clean skin – no makeup, sunscreen, or skincare products on the treatment area.
For acne treatments, inform your esthetician if you are on any prescription acne medication.
If prone to cold sores, take antiviral medication before chemical peels or micro-needling sessions to prevent flare-ups.
Avoid caffeine and alcohol before facials, as they can dehydrate your skin.
Get a patch test done 24 hours before chemical peels to check for sensitivity.

Post-Care Instructions for Facial Treatments

Following post-care instructions is essential for optimal healing and long-lasting results:

Following chemical peels, facials, or microneedling, avoid touching or picking at your skin.
To protect your skin, stay out of the sun and wear sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.
After chemical peels, microneedling, or acne treatments, avoid wearing makeup for 24 hours.
Apply the suggested moisturisers and stay hydrated to help your skin heal.
Avoid perspiration, saunas, and hot showers for 48 hours prior to microneedling.
After treatment, avoid using retinoids, acids, or exfoliating products for at least five to seven days.
Apply aloe vera or a mild, calming serum if you’re feeling red or irritated.
For 12 to 24 hours, refrain from touching the area and use thick creams to prevent threading.
Avoid picking at flaking skin after chemical peels, as they may cause mild peeling.
For reliable and long-lasting results, schedule follow-up treatments as directed.
